Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Vault Financial Technologies, Inc. (“Vault”, “we”) collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use vaultfinancialtech.com and the Vault application and services (the “Services”). Vault provides settlement reconciliation, financial tools and working-capital services to independent delivery and logistics businesses and their owners. Receivables purchased through the Services are purchased by our affiliate, Vault Receivables I, LLC, which is bound by this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account and business information you provide: name, email, phone, business legal name, entity type, address, ownership, and the carriers and platforms you work with.
- Identity and business verification: government-issued identifiers and documents, date of birth and address for beneficial owners, and the results of entity, lien, sanctions and watchlist checks by our verification providers.
- Financial account information: when you connect a bank account through Plaid, we receive account and routing numbers, ownership details, balances and transaction history needed to verify the account and pay you. We never receive or store your bank login credentials.
- Settlement and performance data from the carriers and platforms you serve, under their agreements with us: settlement statements, delivery records, rate cards, deductions and payment status.
- Usage, device and communications data: log data, IP address, browser and device type, actions in the Services (collected through standard web technologies and cookies), and messages, support requests and dispute evidence you send us.
2. How we use it
To verify your identity and business and meet anti-money-laundering, sanctions and know-your-customer obligations; to reconcile settlements, identify deductions and disputes, and provide reporting and financial tools; to underwrite, purchase and service receivables, fund advances to your verified bank account and apply payments from carriers and platforms; to operate, secure, support and improve the Services, including fraud prevention; to communicate with you about your account and, with your consent, about other products; and to comply with law and enforce our agreements.
3. Plaid and other service providers
We use Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to connect and verify bank accounts and retrieve financial information. By connecting an account through Plaid Link, you grant Vault and Plaid the right to access and transmit your personal and financial information from the relevant financial institution in accordance with Plaid’s End User Privacy Policy at plaid.com/legal. We use Middesk to verify businesses and screen for liens, litigation and sanctions, and we use hosting, database, authentication, email, analytics and banking providers. Each receives only what its service requires and is bound by contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
4. How we share it
With the carriers and platforms you serve, to confirm enrollment, direct settlement payments and resolve disputes; with banking partners, lenders and investors in our receivables programs, limited to the account-level and portfolio information needed to fund, finance and report on purchased receivables, under confidentiality obligations (owner identity documents are not shared with lenders); with the service providers in Section 3; as required by law, legal process or regulatory request, to enforce our agreements or to protect the rights, property or safety of Vault, our customers or others; and in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy. We do not sell personal information or share it with third parties for their own marketing.
5. Retention and security
We retain information while your account is active and afterward as required by law and our Data Retention and Deletion Policy; identity verification and transaction records are kept at least five years after the relationship ends under anti-money-laundering rules. You can disconnect a Plaid bank connection at any time in account settings or by contacting us, after which we stop retrieving data from that account and delete the connection. Information is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to personnel who need it and protected by multi-factor authentication, and systems are maintained under our Information Security Policy. No method of storage is completely secure; if a breach affects your information we will notify you as required by law.
6. Your choices and rights
You can review and update account information in the Services or by contacting us; request deletion of your personal information (we delete it except where law requires retention or we need it to complete a transaction, resolve a dispute or enforce our agreements, and we tell you what is retained and why); disconnect a linked bank account at any time; and opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link (service and account messages continue). Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws may have additional rights to access, correct, delete or port personal information and to appeal a decision; we honor these as the law requires and do not discriminate for exercising them. Requests go to privacy@vaultfinancialtech.com. We verify your identity before acting and respond within 45 days.
7. Cookies, children, changes and contact
We use essential cookies to operate the Services and analytics cookies to understand usage; you can control cookies in your browser. The Services are for businesses and their adult owners and personnel; we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. We will post changes here with a new effective date and notify account holders of material changes.
